The Air Jordan 11 Retro “Gratitude” pays homage to the pair released in the DMP pack back in 2006.
The “Defining Moments Pack” took place in January 2006, marking Jordan Brand’s first-ever multi-shoe pack retailing at $295. This launch paid homage to the sneakers worn by Michael Jordan during the initial championship of his two three-peats, showcasing gold accents on each shoe. The package included dog tags referencing the specific championship, a booklet, and came encased in a two-tier golden box that slid out and unfolded like a book to unveil the sneakers.
The original samples of the “DMP” 11 featured distinctive “JORDAN” lettering on the eyelets, a detail later incorporated into the 2020 “Jubilee” 11, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Air Jordan 11.
Fast forward to current times – this design incorporates new materials. The upper combines premium elements like luxurious leather with a sleek knit collar, while the glossy patent leather mudguard mirrors the brilliance of the original. A translucent, tinted outsole provides a polished finish, and the welded gold Jumpman emblem celebrates the shoe’s championship roots.
Air Jordan 11 Retro “Gratitude” releases FCFS online and in-store, tomorrow, Saturday December 9th at 9am.
