adidas and Grammy award-winner, Pharrell Williams, first kicked off their long and fruitful partnership back in 2014.
They initially collaborated on a pair of hand-painted Stan Smiths, which were sold at Colette to raise funds for charity. This would open the door to a trio of solid-coloured Stan Smiths which were released later that year. In March 2015, the ‘Supercolour’ pack was released, a collection of monochromatic Superstars that featured the entire colour spectrum. That collection would go on to sell over 15 million pairs, making it adidas’ highest seller throughout all their styles, proving Pharrell’s impressive influence on the industry, as well as foreshadowing the success the partnership would create in the future.
Originally introduced in 2020, the first Human Race Basics collection featured bold colours of Red, Orange, and Olive. Transitioning to today’s latest release, we see a plethora of minimalistic, understated colours dubbed “ALMPNK”, “HALBLU”, “LINGRN”, “ALMYEL”, “ALUMIN”, “LGREYH”, and “GRINUI”.
All pieces in the apparel line are constructed from 100% French terry cotton, with options including tees, hoodies, crewnecks, sweatpants, and shorts.
The full apparel collection releases online and in-store, Wednesday 28th September.
