The iconic Nike Air Max 90 celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020. Tinker Hatfield expanded on the impact of the Air Max 1 by exposing the Air Max unit in a more intense way with the midsole and mudguard, placing bigger influence on the shoe’s technology. As the silhouette looks to the next 30 years, a true grail for AM90 collectors is coming back.
Back in 2004, Nike teamed up with Dave’s Quality Meats to release the DQM x Air Max 90 “Bacon” inspired by Dave Ortiz’s boutique modeled after a butcher shop. The model and colourway need no introduction… The sneaker represents the colour palette of raw bacon and is the perfect embodiment of the loved breakfast meat. Red, brown, white and pink cover everything from the premium leather and suede uppers to the iconic heart-shaped plaque on the heel. The hues carry over underfoot as well with a dark brown outsole and a soft pink Air unit.
