Air Jordan I x Nigel Sylvester - Heavy Distress Marks

BMX pro Nigel Sylvester has officially unveiled his latest collaboration with the Jordan brand. While the duo designed a pair of Nike SB Dunks back in 2014, their latest brainchild is a stripped-back Air Jordan 1.

The Queens-born rider has been instrumental in the evolution of BMX riding since signing to Nike and Mirra Co. at the young age of 18. Responsible for helping push the sport in a fresh new direction, he is best known for his graceful, powerful and effortless riding style.

Staying true to his roots, Sylvester wanted to design a shoe that would emulate the naturally ‘worn out’ look of his own sneakers. Constructed out of premium leather, the shoe has been stained with a sepia sail tone and unique scruff markings along the toe and heel. The traditional Nike Swoosh has also been stripped away, leaving only a stitching outline to showcase the iconic logo. An embroidered mini swoosh on the forefoot, varsity red sole and a black tongue and laces add an edgy appearance to the silhouette.

The Air Jordan 1 x Nigel Sylvester is set to release in-store at The Good Life on the 8th September (first come first serve basis).
