The Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” is back. They were originally released in 1988 when Michael Jordan first wore them in the All-Star Game. This iconic sneaker, that also released in 1994, 2001, 2008, and 2011, is regarded by many as one of the greatest in the brand’s history.
The release features a mix of leather, elephant print, and visible Air and is set to be released on Michael Jordan’s birthday, on February 17th 2018, in celebration of the silhouette's 30th Anniversary.
A nice surprise for all fans of this sneaker is the Nike Air Logo on the heel, which is a nod to the OG's from 1988. This detail was then replaced with the Jumpman logo.
The Air Jordan III was a pivotal point for the Jordan brand, as Mike, was reportedly just about to leave Nike. When Tinker Hatfield presented the Jordan III's, he captured MJ's attention with its unique technology and a look never before seen on the courts. Jordan's stellar performance that year, as well as his slam dunk contest win wearing the Jordan III White Cement, helped propel Nike and the Jordan brand to new heights.
Releasing at The Good Life on 17 February 2018
