The Nike Air Max 270 launched just in time for the Air Max celebrations.
While many of Nike’s heritage silhouettes have been widely recognised as lifestyle staples, such as the 1987 Air Safari for example; all were originally created with running performance in mind. The Air Max 270, which takes its inspiration from the 93 and 180, is the first 100-percent lifestyle Air shoe. Designed with the same rigorous attention to detail as sport performance but for the demands of all-day wear and so much visual air.
The name 270 comes from an internal Nike name for the Air Max 93, which referred to the 270 degrees of visibility in the air unit.
Standing at 32-mm tall, it is the tallest ever Max Air unit.
The Air Max 270 unit height offers the largest heel volume displacement for maximum air cushion comfort.
Kevin Durant, from the Golden State Warriors, loved the shoe so much that Nike made him a size US18, which he wore during on November 22nd 2017 against the Oklahoma City Thunders. This is the largest Air Max 270 ever made.
The hybrid-inspired silhouette will receive the OG treatment, with two new colourways that nod to the original Air 180 and Air Max 93 colourways. The release will include an “Ultramarine” version in women’s sizing and a “Dusty Cactus” colourway in men’s.
