adidas Originals have just released their latest women’s-only silhouette, the Arkyn. Rooted in adidas’ iconic vintage style, the Arkyn brings an unexpected new perspective to women’s streetwear.
Its slim shape, clean mesh upper, dual tone lacing and traditional 3-stripe mark, have been designed specifically for female creators, workers and thinkers, with adidas even naming it "a brand new shoe for, for a brand new era of creativity."
With a sock-like construction, these sneakers have been built for serious comfort and fit with the brands signature BOOST midsole and neoprene heel. The final product has everything that is core to adidas Originals by uniting, style, sport, culture and creativity.
To launch the Arkyn into the market, adidas collaborated with five iconic women; model Kendall Jenner, Serbian artist Ana Kras, Meta Flora founder Marisa Competello, musician Syv de Blare, and soccer player Florencia Galarza.
Each of the five females co-created the campaign imagery and took the shoot out of a studio setting and into their living and working spaces. Conceptualised by Bronx-based photographer Renell Medrano and videographer Thuan Tran, the campaign echoes the Arkyn’s unbridled creativity and laid-back attitude in all of its forms.
