New Balance's Protection Pack series features tonal colour schemes highlighting the rough cuts and quality material that made the shoe stand out from the crowd. An upper constructed of different suedes and mesh sets the stage for the return of the jagged panelling, a heavily desired feature. This design arrives in a deep black, with some tonal greys on the shoe's upper. Traces of the 991 DNA are present with the way the midsole seamlessly mixes hits of white and beige. To add some extra flash, there are some 3M details on the brand logos panels both above and below the laces, as well as on the inside near the collar.
